Their second album, released in 1973, saw the melodic rockers Jane, from Hanover, continue what they had started on their debut recording: spherical keyboard soundscapes, accompanied by tough guitars and heavy drums. Their irresistible anthems were up to nine minutes long, allowing guitarists Wolfgang Kranz and Klaus Hess to really let off steam. Luckily both had already been replaced when the Brain label asked the band to record their second album.

The re-release of Here We Are is overshadowed by the death of Peter Panka in June 2007. The band s founder member was an institution on the German rock scene. The latest release by Peter Panka s Jane saw the light of day only a few days before his death, Panka having continued to man the drum kit during the group s recent tour.
