"Fascination: The Jane Morgan Collection is an excellent single CD of Jane's great songs. I am baffled as to why this album is currently out of print; I certainly hope that changes soon. The quality of the sound is excellent and I like the artwork as well.
The CD starts with Jane Morgan singing one of her best known tunes, "Fascination." The violins are so sweet on this classic love tune and Jane sings this with all her heart and soul. Jane's excellent diction and her uncanny sense of timing help to enhance her performance greatly. "Love Makes The World Go 'Round" has yet another sweet, pretty melody and Jane sings this to perfection--and beyond! This classic love tune never ceases to charm me and that's grand. Listen also for Jane to outdo even herself on "Hello Young Lovers;" "Hello Young Lovers" is from The King And I; Deborah Kerr would have been proud! "Hello Young Lovers" is another highlight of this fine CD.
"I Get Ideas (When I Dance With You)" celebrates the joys of romance; and the Latin beat is outstanding. What a great number this is! Jane also handles the subtle, complicated tempo changes like the pro she always was! I love it. "The Day The Rains Came" uses the brass to great advantage; and when Jane comes in this number truly takes flight! This is anything but elevator music, people!
"It's Easy To Remember" stuns me with its beauty; and Jane sings this without a superfluous note. "It's Easy To Remember" is another classic love song that certainly gets the royal treatment from this songbird. The strings also enhance the natural beauty of "It's Easy To Remember." Similarly, "Just In Time" gets such a fine treatment by Jane; this time "Just In Time" gets an upbeat, catchy interpretation that will leave you wanting more. In addition, there's also "Arrivederci Roma;" the accordion helps to make this number a very special tune.
"My Favorite Things" from The Sound Of Music sounds fresh and new when Jane Morgan sings this; and the music that goes with her singing fits in perfectly! The album also ends very strong with Jane Morgan performing "Beyond The Blue Horizon." Jane sings wonderfully and this number makes a great ending for this album.
Jane Morgan fans will want this for their collections--it's worth every penny you'll spend on it. I also recommend this CD for fans of classic pop vocals.

JANE's VOICE CLEAR AS CRYSTAL

"I think THE JANE MORGAN COLLECTION is a great sampling of Ms.Morgan's talents. Jane was often backed by THE TROUBADORS. Rarely do they get mentioned. I think Jane's strong voice and sincerity kept her on top of the pop scene when rock was the rage. One of my favorite songs from the cd mentioned is "My Favorite Things." Jane sings it with such energy! I also love the fluid way Jane sings "Adios Muchachos" (I Get Ideas). She switches from English to Spanish with the greatest of ease. The cd is GREAT. The back of the cd is hard to read...and I have 20/20 vision. The front cover is a great shot of JANE MORGAN! Talented and beautiful."

"Jane Morgan's unpretentious, simple style of singing appealed to me since I was a kid. She put out a lot of records, but is virtually forgotten. It's a shame, because her recordings can serve as the standard for so many modern classics. The only thing I missed on this CD was her recording of "Around the World". Other than that--elegant perfection."

"Please note ladies and gentlemen that Jane Morgan is not DEAD and is alive and well and living in Southern California!"
Not forgetting the day the rains came

"In some ways, Jane arrived on the music scene too late. Her music belonged in the pre-Elvis era but she had the talent, class and style to succeed in the rock'n'roll era despite that. Her only American top ten hit, Fascination, was a translation of the French song, Valse tzigane. Her only UK hit, The day the rains came, was a translation of another French song - it went all the way to number one in the UK but stalled just outside the top twenty in America. La jour ou la pluie viendra (to give it its original French title) was written by Gilbert Becaud, an excellent songwriter who also wrote songs that were translated into English as It must be him, Let it be me and What now my love.
This compilations includes both of those fine songs plus fourteen others and extensive liner notes. Jane had three other American hits. Chart students may be disappointed to note that Happy anniversary is the only one included here. The others, together with the three already mentioned, can be found on Greatest hits.
The rest of the album is filled with Jane's majestic performances of classic songs including Love makes the world go round, Wrap your troubles in dreams, Hello young lovers, It's easy to remember and Baubles bangles and beads. The most famous song here may be My favorite things, a song that originally appeared in The sound of music - it has now been adopted as a Christmas song and is sometimes included on Christmas albums.
Despite the omission of two minor hits, this is the best collection of Jane's music so far released.
If you enjoy the music of Margaret Whiting or Jo Stafford, you'll love Jane's music too."
