"Jason Donovan. Most probably the most popular and successful bloke in the late 80's and the early 90's. I suppose it is not far-fetched to say that his brand of pop music, along with Kylie's, epitomised the sound of disposable pop music in that period. It's heartening to know that this particular compilation has all the songs that made Jason such a big pop phenomenon then plus a few others which, despite the fact that they are not his hits, are just as memorable. They include tracks like "I Guess She Never Loved Me" and "Wrap My Arms Around You". These couple of songs deserve special mention as they are really beautiful love songs. Although they, along with many others in this album, might sound out-dated as compared to the crop of cookie-cutter type of songs by the latest boybands, they still have a special place in this reviewer's heart. The thing remarkably different about Jason's songs is that unlike stuff churned out by the current boybands (and many others in the music business), they are not in any way sexually suggestive. All it took for the songs to click with the listeners were a catchy melody and simple lyrics. Of course, it didn't hurt that he was damn good-looking then. This is one album that is specially catered to the needs of fans who grew up listening to Jason Donovan. Although the latter might not be the best male vocalist, this album does a great job in chronicling the luscious pop career that he once enjoyed. (Bet many of you don't know that besides "Especially For You", Jason and Kylie also collaborated on "All I Wanna Do Is Make You Mine" which is included in this CD.)For someone whose teenage years were spent listening to Jason's brand of bubblegum pop, this CD is definitely a pleasant trip down memory lane.
