CD Reviews"White Noise" Is The Very Best Kind! Leigh Crutchfield | San Jose, CA United States | 10/14/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is the sixth and most likely final solo album from the former Spirit and Jo Jo Gunne lead vocalist and songwriter Jay Ferguson, and is sadly the only one at this time that has ever been released from a vinyl record on to CD. I do know that it was carefully chosen because it showcases his abundant musical talents extremely well! And why shouldn't it be so? Jay has invited some very accomplished musicians to help him out with his most recent audio masterpiece. The guest list includes famous composer and songstress Jackie De Shannon , and also guitar genius and former Spirit bandmate ,the late Randy California, who contributed his rockin' hot licks to the rappishly reminiscent title track "White Noise". Jay has put his undeniably signature spin on the cover songs "I'm Down" and "Baby Come Back", handily delivering very listenable versions of these familiar tunes. Original selections "I Come Alive" and "Empty Sky" slow the tempo down with a haunting , romantic beauty."In The Heat Of The Night" captures the restless, melancholic, bluesy feeling of a summer evening in the big city."Million$","She's Mine Tonite", "Inside Out" and "Tonite(Fallin' For Ya)" firmly round out this well produced disc. This CD has something interesting to listen to for all rock music lovers, with an eclectic mix of styles represented. It's a "must have" for any true classic rock and roll collection!"
