Great music belittled by poor transfer

"The other reviewer here, Mr. Gomez Pardo from Venezuela, is one of my two or three favorites on the Amazon site; and concerning the performances on this CD, he is absolutely right. They are landmarks, and they must be heard. The difficulty with this CD is that the transfer engineer was more concerned about eliminating background noise than about presenting the musical sound. When that priority is observed, the music suffers. And what you get here is a severely truncated sound that does no justice at all to the originals. For good transfers, seek out versions by Finlandia or Koch Legacy. In a pinch, this CD is a barely decent alternative.
Three-star rating: combining five for the music and one for the sound."

"This album carves in relief the way both conductors of the past made about Sibelius Symphonic universe.
Kajanus was the pivotal figure, the pioneer conductor who dared to perform widely the last epic musician with surprising results that still are widely commented.
This is a referential album that should be part of your tresaured collection.
