Unforgettable music with enhanced sound quality

"This album by Again/Sonopress includes some of the greatest hits by the much loved duo, basically the very same tracks you can find on several similar CDs. The different thing about this one is that the original analog recordings have apparently been carefully re-processed with a sound equalizer in order not only to reduce noise but also to simulate stereo. It is, of course, impossible to obtain real stereophonic sound out of a mono recording, but it seems that studio engineers have divided and distributed different sound frequencies between the two stereo channels so as to produce an artificial three-dimensional or spatial "feeling". Purists may not like it, because it does result in a kind of sonority that differs significantly from the one found in the old recordings we are used to listen to. One must admit, however, that this also brings a much improved sound clarity, and is more pleasant to the ear. The first time I listened to it, I disliked it utterly, considering it a heresy to tamper with such classic recordings. But I soon changed my mind and now I consider this my favorite MacDonald-Eddy CD."
Timeless

"I thoroughly enjoy this CD as it has several duets as well as solos of each artist. The voices of these two singers are unique and timeless, especially when they blend together in their duets which touch the hearts and souls of old and young alike. Their music surpasses the boundary of time."
