"it would be jeanne macdonald! clear, simple, pure, innocent. all the tracks are gems, and all create a mood. she's not a belter, but a song stylist, an actress who reads lyrics like a 3 act play. she plays 20, 40, the scared woman in a ballroom, the ready to go wanderer, and the searcher of the stars for her love. her material is maturely selecte. best cuts are "company" and a finely worked version of "anyplace i hang my hat is home". don't skip over "amanda sang", it'll take you back to a place where a song or a voice could lift the spirits of a small town. thanks jeanne!"
