"...wow...some of us know Jeff as that weirdly-bearded sax-guy from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Some probably know him from his other three solo albums, which were undiluted post-modern acoustic jazz. But this album? Words kinda fail me...the title is incredibly apt, as the album really is the sound of Coffin's creative spirit in full flower. There's a joy and passion to this record that is so palpable, so tangible...it's almost overwhelming. Musically he's all over the place -- gleefully angular odd-meter funk; gorgeously simple, natural, folk-ish themes; rugged New Orleans parade grooves; what they used to call "jazz"; head-spinning trip-hop...it's ten steps beyond what he's done in the past, and ten steps ahead of anything released this year so far. Pretty darn essential, whether your a jamband head, jazzbo, funk jeepie, or just into good music."
