"Turn off the lights. Lay down in bed. Drop the Delta Sleep System CD (which comes with this set) on "Repeat" setting on your CD player.Within minutes, you will find yourself groggy and relaxed, unwilling to move, so as to not disturb the unique sensation of being able to feel yourself slip away into sleep. The harmonic sounds are almost eerie, many of which are taken from interplanetary recordings aboard the Voyager Spacecraft.I have been finding myself tired at work and kind of headachy, stiff neck and just lethargic toward the end of the day. After just the past two days of sleeping to the Delta Sleep System, my dreams are crystal clear, I awake without an alarm clock perfectly refreshed and ready to go. I feel great throughout the day.Our bodies are thirsty for, and are craving, deep Delta phase sleep. This CD allows your mind to synchronize with the Delta wave frequency, dropping you into deep sleep much more readily and sustaining it longer.I highly recommend this, and only caution one thing. Make sure you are able to sleep at least 8 hours, as your body will awaken itself automatically after enough Delta sleep has been attained. I cannot wait to try the other two CDs that came with this set."
Like the ambient parts, but not the "toy piano" stuff

"I bought this CD to try to induce a more restful sleep, but have ended up listening to it more while "awake." In terms of this helping me acheive that more relaxing sleep, I can't really say it has done that. However, I've still enjoyed the material. One thing that I find disconcerting on all three CDs is: The beautiful, meditative, ambient parts are constantly interupted by this really annoying, almost childlike tinkling on a cheap-sounding piano. That sort of takes away the meditative overall quality of the pieces. I also feel that if one's neurotransmission damage is too great these CDs aren't going to get someone to a deeper level of relaxation. On a side note, Thompson's "music" reminds me a lot of the Cliff Martinez soundtracks in Steven Soderberg's movies. If you like that type of ambient mood music, you'll probably dig this."
Fantastic!!!!

"Oh, yeah, lemme tell you about the good 'ol days when I was a kid learnin' to meditate...well, I'll tell you, I used to lay out there in the rain with my eyes closed trying to relax...nowadays the rain storm is included on some fancy-shmancy CD...we didn't have CDs as a kid...I used to have to lug my phonograph and records everywhere I went hoping I could find an electrical outlet...
=)
It's so strange how with all these wonderful aids, such as this CD, more people don't get "into" meditation. I guess it's because meditation is often associated with granola munching, aging hippies who don't have much use for the "real world".
Here's an insight that you may find helpful or downright irritating; there is no stress outside of you. Doesn't that just make you pissed? Doesn't that just push all your freaky buttons? Of course there is @#%$^&! stress outside of me...why do you think I'm so crazy...it's them I tell you...it's the republicans...it's the democrats...it's Paris Hilton's new CD...oh, we have a long list for things that "set us off" but here's the thing, children...
Stress is not outside of us because it's not what is happening to us, it is what we are interpreting certain events to mean. Someone at my job said something to me. I get agitated. Why? Because this boob of a person always says things to annoy me but I let those things annoy me, I let those things agitate me, I let those things stress me out, I am actually empowering this person...I am giving him control over my thoughts, my feelings, and my actions.
What to do? What to do?
Meditate.
Meditate and peel off the layers of agitation, of criticism, of resentment. Breathe in.....breathe out...break in pink, healing light....breathe out all negativity. This music on this particular CD will help you relax...it will help you to center...it will help you to regain your power back and maybe even help you to realize with real eyes that everything that is in our lives is to help us grow and expand and become even more!
Jeffrey Thompson's CDs can really help you learn to meditate even if you've never meditated before. Even if you just end up going to sleep because the music is so relaxing, it's a good sign, you are learning to let go of agitation.
Besides, we all meditate whether we realize it or not. If you get so involved with an activity that you lose track of time and you're enjoying yourself, you are meditating... horror of horrors...I don't wanna be one of those long haired, peace loving, freaks...
Go eat your granola, grampa...

Too wonderfull not to pay attention to.

"I have had the disks for 5 month. I still find the music truly enchanting. This has been a problem in itself. The music is too nice not to pay active attention to, which detracts one from falling sleep. I wish there were more low frequency harmonics repeating itself, so one forgets actively listening to and let the low frequency do its job for deep phase sleep."
