Glad we didn't pay much

"I would rate this "sleep" system lower than 1 if I could. It has not helped either my husband or I to get a single night's worth of decent sleep. In fact, it merely delays the beginning of sleep until at least the CD is over and we can turn it off. As others have commented, there are louder bursts of sound which pull us out of any beginnings of restfulness that the CD has achieved. I don't know how many more nights I'll try this before I throw it into the trash or sell it on e-Bay. It bewilders me where all the great comments come from. I'm going back to my fan, where I have at least the possibility of sleep."

"I read the reviews before I purchased this CD and thought the bad reviews were just oddities. However, I would pay attention to them. This Delta Wave CD may help people if they just need soothing music to fall asleep to. But I am afraid that is all that it is. There is no substitute for doing the work of meditation and breathing exercises. Yes, I placed a speaker on each side of my bed across from my head. I used the continuous play mode for the entire night. I awoke more than I usually do!--to such a degree that I felt ill the next day. I too found the engineered music a bit creepy. Not terrible. But not soothing. I have found the Andrew Weil Breathing CD is much more helpful. There is no magic bullet for sleep. It takes time and research to figure out what your body needs. The Andrew Weil Breathing CD is really a combination of breathing and meditation exercises that you can use individually or as a program. He says it takes time to help. He is right. It does take time but it sure works. The first week I went to sleep much more easily and in a shorter period of time. After 2 1/2 months I now sleep seven hours a night. Pretty good for someone who would sleep for an hour or two and then wake up. Save your money. If You need to sleep there are no short cuts. Buy the Andrew Weil Breathing CD and commit to the meditation and breathing exercises. They are quite pleasant. The Andrew Weil website has great tips for sleep habits. Good Luck!"
Not a pleasant experience

"I have no doubt that there is something in the tones that affect you. The problem is that, with me, the effects were negative. Maybe it is just a matter of it affecting different people differently, or maybe it's a matter of how fast you fall asleep and if you are in the right state as the CD advances. For whatever reason, the longer the CD went on the worse I felt. It was like a weird sensation building in my head. I tried this several times to rule out a fluke, but each time it was the same. I never got fully asleep with this CD. The most I got was a half awake, half asleep state that I had trouble waking up from. It was a creepy and unpleasant feeling. Each time I had to fight to fully wake up so that I could turn it off. Maybe it works for some people, but I have to rate it on my own experience."
