"What a great overlooked 60's R&B group. Classic R&B-style singing, sweet, rich harmonies, expressive alto lead singing, sophisticated yet charming songs... if you like the Drifters and the Chiffons, you'll like the Jelly Beans. The bonus tracks, from other artists on Leiber and Stoller's Red Bird Records, are also great- there was a lot of talent in that tiny record label, and this represents some of the best of it. Two classic hit songs are in the bonus tracks- 'Go now' and 'The Boy from New York City'- but the highlight is the Jelly Beans themselves, and the songs of the great Jeff Berry and Ellie Greenwich ('Doo wah ditty ditty', 'Chapel of Love', 'I can hear music'). So if you like sweet songs and classic harmony-laden R&B, you just might love the Jelly Beans."
