"Love Celine, but everyone forgets that Jennifer was the original artist to have a hit (and a HUGE one at that, esp. in the U.K. and Europe) with The Power Of Love (which she co-wrote). Her version still remains the best to me, even though both Laura Branigan and Celine Dion, both whom I adore, had hit covers of the song, Celine's being a huge hit. This comilation contains all of her singles from the 80's including the Elton John duet "Flames Of Paradise" and many Euro hits (especially big in German speaking countries where Jennifer is very big) that if you are American, you may not know. This CD contains songs from the albums "Movin" & "Jennifer Rush" that were actually combined into one international version called "Jennifer Rush" that was released in the U.S., so you will find songs from both of the original albums here like the hits "25 Lovers" and "Ave Maria". Although some of this material might seem dated, Jennifer was way ahead of her time with her early work, making some very unique music. The lyrics of those early songs (most of which she co-wrote) do not sound like your a-typical pop-tunes from that time period, and the sound is a unique blend of early 80's synth, with a touch of 80's underground and pop that was a sound all her own. She moved into more U.S. radio friendly albums with a more rock sounding "Heart Over Mind" and the adult contemporary based album "Passion". The singles from those albums are also included here, except two of the "Passion" singles are in Spanish, which are a great rare find if you own the original ablum. The songs "Higher Ground" (jazz-swing pop that sounds a little cheesey in 2003 but 'll grow on ya) and "Wings Of Desire" were from the album "Wings Of Desire" which followed "Passions" and was Jennifer's last album for Columbia before this compilation and her subsequent signing to EMI. "Wings Of Desire" was not released in the U.S. If you own a few of Jennifer's U.S. releases, this is a great addition to add a few of the harder to find songs that weren't released in the U.S."
