CD Reviews"I'm Sorry" Jack Dalton | Ames, Iowa | 09/22/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "In "Rabbit", Terran explores the music of dissonance,
carefully constructed and exquisitely executed. A lesser voice could never pull this off. On the surface, some tracks may seem noisy and silly, but the album is worthy of a close listen or two before drawing conclusions. The third track, "Junkdrawer Waltz" is at once beautiful and profound. Track four, "The Ride" sounds surprisingly normal after three tracks to educate the ear to this artform. And the moments of perfectly tuned consonance in "The Split" are just striking! At just under 23 minutes, it seems a bit brief for a cd, but lack of duration is made up for in complexity as the work folds itself into a tight, self-referential whole. Everyone should own a copy of this CD." |
