"This is a reissue of two LPs, a format I favour because you get the benefit of the original concept, without the stylistic jumps you so often get in compilations. The first LP has a most unusual selection of Cole Porter's songs, and Billy May's orchestral backings are superb. 'At the Crescendo' is a live performance with a small group, and the highlights for me are the four tracks where Jeri accompanies herself on the piano. Her piano breaks on 'Nice work if you can get it' and 'When I fall in love' are just fabulous. Also outstanding is her performance of her greatest hit 'You better go now'. The only things I don't like are the songs where an excessively slow tempo is adopted, which on such as 'Dancing on the Ceiling' is out of place. Jeri is cool, sexy and sincere. Jeri is the tops."
