Album Description2009 collection from the Jazz/Torch vocalist and pianist. Jeri Southern started her working life as a piano player and vocal coach, progressing to playing piano in Chicago Jazz clubs and backing the likes of Anita O'Day. Coaxed into singing, she managed to become one of the most underrated Jazz interpreters despite not having that strong a voice. Part speaking, part singing, she was superb at delivering songs charting the downhill romantic life of the American world-weary every-woman. She recorded for Decca, Roulette, Capitol and Jasmine during the 1950s but then retired after growing tired of the state of the music industry. Bygone Days.
