"THEY NEED ME"
Richard Reznik | 04/02/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)
"Music taken from the BURT & Liza movie. "they need me" is one of the tracks from the movie which is very moving and romantic, "the bust" is a slow building action cue at the begining of the movie, "lonely cop" is another moving piece were Burt is walking the steets all alone, bless him. There is not a bit of music on this cd that i do not enjoy, it was only a low budget movie, and although this is not one of the goldsmith classics, I love it, i also find the movie very enjoyable too."
Goldsmith scores a flop.

"Alternating between a cheesy muzak sounding love theme and a percussive action theme, Jerry Goldsmith's score for Rent-A-Cop, a late eighties Burt Reynolds fiasco, is one of the famed composer's lesser efforts. Nonetheless, a Jerry Goldsmith off day assignment is more fun to listen to than many other film composer's best work."
