Jerry Goldsmith's composition for "The Secret of N.I.M.H." is one of the best of any genre. Underscoring the exploits of a mother rat to protect her brood, Goldsmith superbly weaves a musical tapestry of mystery, affection, and grandeur. Later Disney animated films would win awards for their blend of Broadway-inspired musical numbers and traditional incidental music, but this film deserves recognition and a place in an audiophile's collection. There are no "catchy" songs here because of the seriousness of the subject matter. But, the score is a true feast for the ears as well as the soul! OUTSTANDING!"
