"Recieving applause and cheers from live audiences, singers are usually vocally superior when performing in live venues. This recording of Jerry Vale at Carnegie Hall is no exception. Every song is perfection with some extraordinary vocal challenges that Vale conquers with ease. The 1st time I heard "I Feel A Song Comin On", I was pleasantly surprised within the 1st few seconds of the song, to learn that what I was hearing was Jerry Vale's voice instead of what I THOUGHT was an orchestra horn holding a long note! Jerry's version of "I Left My Hear In San Francisco" is just as good if not better than Tony Bennett's. The whole show is excellent, with Vale being in prime goosebump-giving voice. The only drawback is you can tell the concert was edited. According to Jerry Vale himself during a recent radio interview, he stated that they left out several songs and audience interactions. If Columbia and the powers that be would re-release this in it's full unedited version, it would be perfect. And, where's the rest of Jerry Vale's live performances? He did Carnegie Hall again in 1994, not to mention hundreds of other live performances."
