Not quite what I expected...

"At one time I owned almost all the JCY/Youngbloods vinyl albums that had been released. I still have the albums, but no record player. I thought this CD would provide me with a well rounded Jesse/Youngbloods experience. How could I go wrong with Get Together and Darkness, Darkness, as well as a good assortment of JCY Band hits? Unfortunately, the recordings of Get Together and Darkness, Darkness are new versions of the old classics, and, well, Jesse's voice ain't what it used to be. My initial reaction upon listening to this the first time was disappointment. I thought maybe the new versions would grow on me with futher listening. They didn't. The rest of the songs on the CD are the original recordings, so if you liked them in the 70's, you'll still like them now. It was great to hear It's a Lovely Day, Sunlight, Song for Juli, and Sugarbabe again. If your looking for a good JCY/Youngbloods greatest hits collection, I recommend that you look further. This may not be the one for you."
