Album DescriptionHaving shot to prominence in 2002 for his songwriting and guitarwork on NORAH JONES' acclaimed debut 'Come Away With Me', JESSE HARRIS, is back with his new album, 'Watching The Sky', a gorgeous blend of jazz, pop & folk. Winning a Song Of The Year Grammy Award in 2003 for writing Norah Jones' hit single "Don't Know Why", Jesse Harris is perhaps most well-recognised for his collaborations with others. In 2006, he wrote the score and songs ETHAN HAWKE's film, 'The Hottest State', and recruited the likes of CAT POWER, FEIST, WILLIE NELSON, Norah Jones, EMMYLOU HARRIS, BRIGHT EYES, THE BLACK KEYS, and M. WARD to record them. But he has released albums previously on VERVE FORECAST & BLUE THUMB. Jesse's new recording is centred on the backbone percussion of MAURO REFOSCO (DAVID BYRNE, BEBEL GILBERTO, FORRO IN THE DARK) and with it's Naassua & New Orleans brass arrangements it has sensibility that recalls another era - think BURT BACHARACH meets CS DODD's STUDIO ONE. Jesse reunites with Norah Jones on "It Will Stay With Us", who contributes vocals.
