"This is truly a wonderful CD that I enjoy from beginning to end. It's about love, for those who are on the love train. It's about many different emotions and Jesse Powell express's it beautifully and wonderfully. It is truly one of those CD's that you enjoy listening to over and over again. I purchased this CD before Jesse release his second CD and still love listening to it now. The song YOU that drawed attention to this artist was placed on this, his first album. I feel that this album did not get the credit that it deserves. But I can tell you that it is worth the purchase to have in your collection at any age."
"You" gotta get this album!

"Jesse Powell is perhaps THE most underrated male R&B or male singer today. I first heard of him when I heard the song "You" back in 1998. I thought his voice was incredible and the song was beautiful. I recently purchased his self-titled debut and I'm proud to say that it is very good. Of course the main highlight is the radio R&B hit "You", this one with an extended saxophone solo. But others include "Spend the Night (It's Alright)" which is reminiscent of Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)." "The Enchantment Medly" is just beautiful and the second half "it's You That I Need" will amaze you with it's motown feel. His twin sisters also appear on this album with background and contributing vocals. If you never heard a song by him, then his voice can be described as a cross between Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. It's too bad Mr. Powell isn't that recognized as other male R&B artists, but this album is just beautiful and will remain playing on my stereo often."

"I just came online in order to find this explosive CD. I originally purchased it upon it's initial release in the beginning of '96. It was so refreshing to hear a young man with such a voice and wide array of runs and styles. It shows that he definately is working at his craft and is a true artist with true talent. The shining stars on this album include, "All Alone", which is guaranteed to bring a tear or two from your ducts, the sensual yet discreet, "If you Like What you See" and the #1 hits "All I Need", and "You". Mr. Powell touches on a plethora of musical elements. From jazz and funk to a special take on a classic love ballad, Mr. Powell shows madd vocal strength and charm as he effortlessly waves his voice across a variety of genres all in one breakthrough solo album. Jesse, in my opinion is the most underrated male vocalist on the scene right now. A voice for a new millennium."
Definitely his best CD to date!! Even better than 'Bout It!

"I must say that when I first heard this CD I fell in love with it! It definitely didn't receive the recognition that it should have. When "You" started playing on the radio I just assumed that it was from his first CD. I made it a point to let my friends know that there was absolutely nothing new about "You". I encouraged them to check out the debut CD. This one will forever be my favorite although I bought 'Bout It, it could never hold a candle to Jesse Powell."

"Jesse Powell is the man. I bought his CD about 3yrs. ago and I'm still groovin' to it. "It's tight!" Believe me, I'm not the kind of person that compliments ones music but as for J.P., it's all good. I had the privilege to meet Jesse at a local gym and he's a down to earth kinda guy. Check out track# 2,5,6,7,8,12,13... As for his current CD, I guess it's ah-ight. Sounds like all of the new artist's that's out there. What a waste on his vocal skills... Peace, jon p."
