CD Reviews
GOOD BUT THE NEW SONGS SUCK

"There was nothing wrong with this cd when it first came out. It just kind of died on the charts until Newlyweds caught on. Then "With You" took of, thanks to a clever video that poked fun at Jessica's ditzy side. The rest of the cd is just as good. "In This Skin" is catchy as well as "Forbidden Fruit". This was a worthy follow up to "Irresistable" which found her dabbling in R&B territory. I'm glad she moved away from that with this CD. This also has some of her best ballads, "I Have Loved You" and "Underneath" are two of the best on the CD. But please, aquaint yourself with Robbie William's version of "Angels" and instead of Jess's version. "Take My Breath Away" is nearly as bad. She is definitly singing in some affected way that is truly horrible and I hope someone tells her to NOT sing like this in the future, because it sounds like hell."
What all the negativity about? Great CD

"I think I am confused about all the negative reviews. Is it just that these reviewers bought the CD hoping for some pop -danceable music as normally associated with Jessica and in turn got a mellow CD about love songs? A Jessica hater who just dont like her-like all the other people that ripped up the reviewers of Britney's new CD which is also very good too. Either way - there is alot of talent in this girl. She CAN sing almost all of the new "pop diva's- embarrasingly under any table" and she is also writing quite a bit of her own songs. I think this CD is great. Its a CD about Love, there is no mistaking that, and in some reviewers defense there is no real diversity here- but the songs are well sung, production is good, and they dont seem like cheesy pop. If you want more upbeat type music- stick with Britney. Edgier- go with Christina. I was excited to finally hear Jessica on the radio again and still climbing the charts. The DVD is cute- however it really could have been longer, with more scene's and even a few video's would have been nice. Overall I do think- in my own opinion here, that the CD is great, more grown up and shows some class- which a few certain singers her age completely lack. Go Jessica"
Jessica is doing just fine!

"It's really amazing to me when I read the reviews of people who don't like Jessica Simpson yet they listen to samples of her new CD only to take out their hatred and frustration on the amazon.com website in the form of a review. If you don't like Jessica, or pop music to begin with, don't waste our time with hateful comments! Find a CD from an artist you like, then review it...your comments would be more helpful and less childish!
Let's face it, Jessica IS a good singer. If you compare her to Britney Spears, she can sing rings around the self-proclaimed 'Pop Princess'...who of late seems to really have lost her direction (and some would say she's lost her mind, too.) I still think Christina Aguilera is THE voice to compare to, but Jessica is real, down to earth, funny, and sticks to singing the stuff she knows and feels comfortable with. She does not try to stray away from the style that has made her famous. She has a dedicated fan base who could, and should, look to her as more of a role model in pop music much more so than Britney and Xtina, who have now gotten into pure shock value to get attention. She is grounded in her family, her show, her marriage and her beliefs and it shows. She is great on power ballads and radio-friendly pop. In this new CD, she puts a fresh new twist on both 'Angel' and 'Take My Breath Away'... can you imagine if Britney had tried to remake these singles? What a breathy, whiny mess we would have ended up with.
My point being: don't listen if you don't like the artist and the style of music. And don't be jealous just because Jessica (and Nick) are enjoying some fame just like everyone else!
Nick and Jessica, drop me a note anytime, I think hanging out with you guys would be a lot more fun anyday than hanging out with your 'competition'!"
Never Better...made me a fan!

"Now that Jessica has broken out of Britney and Christina's shadows, she finally puts out an album that is 100% hers. On previous records "Sweet Kisses" and "Irresistable", songs followed the teen pop formula, but on "In This Skin", the tracks are Jessica and only Jessica.
The songs on the CD most definately refelect Jessica's life. Standout tracks here include the ones that Jessica wrote herself, including "In This Skin", a song about confidence, "I Have Loved You", a heartfelt ballad, "With You", and of course, "Take My Breath Away" and "Angels". If Jessica releases more CD's like this in the future, her star will continue to burn bright for years to come."
"I admit that I bought this C.D. after hearing the songs played over and over again on her Newlyweds show. The same became true for her sister Ashlee's C.D. as well.
I think my favorite song on Jessica's "In this Skin" C.D. is "Sweetest Sin". I also liked "With You" and "Angels". I already found myself looking for her videos which I have been purchasing as I come across them. I will definitly be buying the "Newlyweds" video when it is released tommorow on Dec. 14th. I will post a review for that as well.
But one more thing...I was pleasantly surprized when I bought "In this Skin" (Collector's Edition)because it came with a bonus C.D. of her wedding and some footage from Newlyweds.
I hope all her fans enjoy it as much as I have and I hope my review has helped those of you that were curious."
