"These mandolin/guitar duets are a crash course in how swing music should be played. Expertly recorded in Jethro's living room at the end of his life, Jethro demonstrates complete mastery of his instrument, playing with elegance and grace. Don Stiernberg's rhythm guitar is superb, and worthy of study by any aspiring swing guitarist. This is a disk that will sound as good twenty years from now as it does today. Buy "Swing Low, Sweet Mandolin" as well--more tracks from the same sessions."
Oh so sweet!

"Now that Jethro has shuffled off the old mortal coil, this is definately some of the sweetest mandolin playing this side of heaven. I grew up listening to Homer & Jethro and hearing this other side of Mr. Burns when he played with Steve Goodman and on these discs that D. Grisman was so kind to release, makes the humor all the more delicious."
