"Sometimes (when my wife's not looking) I just stare at the cover in utter AWE."
Back to basics

"almost anyway. I'm glad jewel got away from her pop stuff. it was horrible. After reading her book I understand why it happened but it was still really awful to watch jewel try to glam anything up. The album was good and very relaxing but she didn't have the same fight in her."
Much better!

"The previous two CDs of her's before this one were less than mediocre. I didn't think they were Jewel at all. The last two CDs were lacking in lyrical content in my opinion. Goodbye Alice in Wonderland is the old Jewel! Her lyrics on this CD actually make a point. I've have liked Jewel since Who Will Save Your Soul and I am so glad she is still making music!"
THE FUN IS BACK

"This easily rivals her best music. She's having her playful laugh at herself fun again and it shows. See her live if you have the chance, best show I have seen ever! Very very few of today's ""stars"" can stand alone on stage with just a guitar for 90 minutes and capture an audience. I thought JEWEL was another pop star like all the whiners created by Hollywood and the "industry". Then when home from college my daughter left a Jewel album "this way" on my stereo. Imagine my surprise when I popped in the disk and this girl had real talent. She can flat out sing in several styles and with at least 4 different voices. The only person I know of almost this talented is Jeff Tweedy. Her lyrics and arrangements are all fresh and fun. I highly recommend this album."
