"I had never heard Jez Lowe before I bought this album. I bought it based on favorable comments in the folk music newsgroups. I really love this album. The songs and arrangements are outstanding, and seem to get better the more you listen. My favorites are "Gatineau Girls" which has an irresistable hook in the chorus, the hauntingly beautiful "Pit Boy", the rousing "Old Bones", and the title track. I feel this album is much superior to his other two releases "Tenterhooks" and "The Parish Notices", although they are worth listening to also. Overall, I would recommend this record very highly for anyone interested in the contemporary folk genre."
