"Jill Jack puts out such excellent music without a significant amount of airplay - she is truly what being an 'indie' artist is all about. My favorite song on Live from Billy's Basement is "Sun is Staying On" - it is a great song to crank up in the car and sing along with. "High in the Sky" starts out kinda mellow, but then from nowhere a blues riff comes in - it is awesome! Always notable on a Jill Jack record are the amazingly intricate guitar stylings of Billy Brandt - especially on "High in the Sky" and "Time and Time Again" on this CD. The last song - called "Full Circle" - makes me think of Joni Mitchell - really simple, but big at the same time, story song with lots of great imagery in her lyrics. With just a hint of mandolin - I love it!
I am a HUGE fan of the Jill Jack band and this CD is great!"
