"First heard "Rosie" on a compilation CD of Detroit musicians put out by the Detroit Red Wings (!) and was blown away. On this CD Jill Jack and her band will blow you away. Hard to categorize, but she is a perfect blend of Folk, Rock, blues and country, with a beautiful voice to match. Give some of the songs a listen at her website at jilljack.com and you'll agree."
Jill Jack rocks!

"I have had the pleasure of seeing Jill Jack live a few times and picked this CD up at a show at the Magic Bag in March. Jill is very hard to pigeonhole...her music is blues-y, folk-sy, a little gospel, and it also ROCKS! Because she is on an independent label, she can actually focus on her music and not have to worry about fitting some cookie-cutter image.
"Rosie" is a very folksy, mellow song that tells the story of a diner owner that entertains all who come in contact with her and the incredible loss they feel when she is taken from them. "Austin" is my favorite song on this CD, it is a little bit of blues and a little bit of rock and describes just wanting to get away. "Watch Over Me" is a very rockin' tune, but the refrain 'kneel right down and pray' evokes a rather gospel vision. "Summertime" is VERY blues-y and has such a mellow vibe, it is AWESOME! The organ in "Colorado" is phenomenal and the song is raw with emotion, very much Jill Jack's trademark.
"Stirs My Soul" is better than anything you will hear on country radio today, it tells of a man bigger than life. A very haunting tune is "Leavin'", in which Jill sings of a darkness that is deafening. In "Holding Hour", the pictures she paints are so real."
Beautiful melodies, gifted songwriter!

"I stumbled upon this CD while browsing a local used CD shop and immediately fell in love with Jill Jack's music. Every song on this album is beautiful. To try to compare her with other artists would be limiting her talent, but if you love Jann Arden, Sarah Maclachlan, or Tara Maclean then Jill Jack's music will definitely blow you away. It's too bad brilliant artistry like this isn't more prevalent in the "mainstream." You won't be disappointed with this CD!!"
