"Jim and Jesse McReynolds were among the most successful bluegrass acts of the 1950s, and one of the few bands to weather out the commercial decline that set in when rock'n'roll music swept the nation. Their sweet, melodic style is treasured by fans, and their classic recordings are must-haves for devoted bluegrassers. Their later albums are mighty fine as well, still showing the gentleness and good taste that marked their career. This 1991 release is a mellow, masterful album, marking their 25th year as members of the Grand Ole Opry. This has an all-star cast, including guests such as Carl Jackson, Curly Seckler, Tony Rice, Emmylou Harris, Jerry Douglas, and others. The McReynolds brothers aren't exactly on fire the way they were when they were young, but, then again, they don't really have to be... What matters is the solid, well chosen material, heavy on the heartsongs, and quite nice."
