"I had despaired of ever finding this CD but then again I had despaired of ever finding the vinyl before that. I finally found the vinyl and so it was with the CD. I found it here on Amazon.com. This album has always been one of my favorites. From the first song (It's All Right) to the last (Summer Is Fading with the addendum of Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again) I'm in its thrall. Some of the songs I especially enjoy are listed here. The good time feelings of the bass line and acoustic guitar of It's All Right. The guitar lead and lyrics on the title song give us an image of corruption of the physical world. The reality that material possessions can not return your love and so you become a lonely person is described in I've Got So Much Lovin'. The sense that life continues as the summer fades is given flesh in Summer Is Fading. I have enjoyed both the lyrics and the music throughout the album. I believe that if you like John Barleycorn Must Die by Traffic then you will probably enjoy this album? CD? Whatever..."

"Although inspired at places, this album suffers from the sort of inconsistency you'd expect when a solo performer assembles a different group of sidemen on each track. Sometimes, it works and sometimes it just doesn't. If you like Capaldi's work with Traffic, this will fail to satisfy. On the other hand, "Oh, How We Danced" is a real gem, and if you need some Capaldi, I suggest you go there."

This isn't Traffic.

"This is a reasonably well produced album, recorded with some legendary Muscle Shoals musicians but yet it still fails to impress. The material could have been stronger as there really isn't an exceptional song in the bunch. Capaldi is competent but isn't quite strong enough to carry a band by himself. He was at his best assuming the occassional lead vocal with Traffic. Where he attempts to come across as a blue eyed soul/blues man his abilities are really better suited for the medium of rock. Where the musicians are solid enough the material would have benefited from a little stretching out and a few passionate solos. The soloing is good but not inspiring. Overall the disc is o.k., just not essential. Stick with Traffic you'll be better off...Simon"
