All his best hits, and some not so great

"If you are new to Jim Croce, you can expect male vocal, in a 70's style soft rock - perhaps "folk rock" is a better description. His music seems to fall into two very separate categories - first the slow and romantic tracks such as "Time In A Bottle" and "I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song", and second the upbeat songs about daily life such as "Bad Bad Leroy Brown", "Rapid Roy" and "You Don't Mess Around With Jim". For some, this mix of moods on one album may be distracting, but I find that the variations keep me awake :-)Of the 20 tracks on the CD only about 8 or 10 are decent songs, with a few big hits in between. The rest is comparatively a little on the weak side, but nevertheless still very listenable. This CD seems to be one of the better "Best Of" compilations, so if you like his main hits "Time In A Bottle" and "Bad Bad Leroy Brown", then this CD is a winner. If you have not heard any Jim Croce before, then this is as good a starting point as you can get."
