"This album was hyped online for months before its release, and with the much-talked-about radio drama between the Diplomats and MA$E the month before, everyone was ready to see what Capo Status had to offer.
Unfortunately, in the opinion of so many die-hard Diplomats fans, the final product falls short of the buzz created on mixtapes like the Certified Troublemakerz series and Jones' own Ambitionz of a Gangster and Ryder Muzik. Even the lead single, Certified Gangsters, had to be stripped of its orginal guest appearances by The Game of G-Unit and Lil Flip due to rumored vetoes from up above. Nonetheless, Capo presents a heavy hitting album for the most part, with tested and approved songs in Get Crunk Muzik, Certified Gangstas (the original version), and This Is Gangsta, some other ones we've heard before, and an okay blend of new material. Its the tested songs that hold this down, which is why it of course falls short of Capo's mixtape efforts because obviously for copyright reasons etc. all the bangers from those couldn't be released without messing them up somehow. Overall, this is a very solid effort. Forget all the hate, forget Mason Betha (you a preacher lying!), everyone else. You have to be able to understand and appreciate this type of music to feel the power, these other reviewers just don't know, they can stay on that PB n J with no bread, the real music continues to be played."

"jim jones really isnt a talented rapper and the only ok song is 'certified gangsters' feat. game of g unit. all he raps about is dipset drew and his stinking liquer company coming out which may suck as much as this album. the beats are lame awell."

"i judge fairly every album i get now... as far as jim jones go... i never looked at him as rapper until i got this album tell u the truth the only reason why i bought the album was because i like the song twin towers... but when i went threw the cd i was amazed at alot of things like... lovely daze/memory lane was like damn y he did not come out with this a single... then u got let's ride, only one way up and a few other songs where he shows his talent to me i think lyrically he is the strongest in dipset because his cd is not talking about hoe's and pushing drugs the whole cd.... aww man he should of made a whole song to memory lane that song with that guitar is so ill"

"Overall this is one of the few albums that I own that is worth listening to now and again as Jim Jones really shows what he can do. The only reason why I bought this album is because I heard Certified Gangsta on Uncut and Crunk Muzik on the Internet, both songs I wasn't really into, but bought this album because I had some money to spare. After some extensive listening I was really pleased with the content, and of course made me want to buy everything Diplomats (not a good decision for the newer stuff out) but am still happy with this purchase. Alot of songs like Bend N Stretch, and Certified Gangsta have Westside beats and others like Let's Ride, Spanish Fly, and When Thugs Die, are just those songs that you really need to listen about whats going on. Except for the meaningless interlude/skits most songs on this album are pretty good, so if you like the good stuff go get this album"
