CD ReviewsYippee! Anagnostic | Ireland | 03/31/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Studeo Trieste was issued on Vinyl in 1982 by CTI records and I'm so delighted to find that it has finally been reissued. However having recovered from my fit of consumerist ecstasy I must protest at the high price. To price people out of such superb music is just shameful, it is not even a good business proposition.
If you are new to Jazz this is a great place to start. If you love Miles Davis' Kind of Blue and love Jazz guitar you will be blown away by this. The musicians on this album are all masters, jamming with incredible sensitivity -clearly driven by a deep respect for each other's musicianship. Chet Baker's entry on Swan Lake is simply sublime and can stand comparison with Mile's playing on the classic album mentioned above. Chet Baker: Trumpet/Flugelhorn Jim Hall: Guitar Jack Wilkins (Solo on all Blues) Hubert Laws: Flutes Kenny Barron: Key Boards (Solos on Django & Swan Lake). Jorge Dalto: (Solos on Malaguana & All Blues). Sammy Figueroa: Percussion Steve Gad: Drums Garry King: Electric Bass (Malaguana, All Blues) Acoustic Bass: George Mraz" |
