"Take the guitar instrumentals burned into your brain
as a kid, and listen to them elaborated on and polished
by a great craftsman who seems to love them just as
much. Not so much fast, although he's plenty of that,
but just smooth, rich, playful, and inventive, and
still true to the original. I wish there were fewer
slow cuts, but even those, like American Bandstand, are
worth the listen, and fun.But Pipeline, Walk Don't Run, Miserlou, and his take on
Freddie King's great San-Ho-Zay. Wow! I want more.
Too bad all his other albums seem to have vocals."

"This mostly instrumental offering from Portland Blues and Surf guitar genius Jim Mesi is so wonderful. Every time I'm listening to Jim's music and someone not familiar with it hears it, they ask who it is, and go buy a copy. I have to wonder why with his talent he's not an international hit, and I'm left wondering."

"Jim Mesi is a mostly undiscovered talent except to those in Portland Oregon who recognize him as one the best blues guitarist around. This album is a great mixture of blues and old classic surf and 60's classics. Well-recorded, with a semi-live sound to it, you'll be rockin right in your own living room!"
