"Golllllleeeeeeee! Jim Nabors -- yes that Nabors, whose solid baritone has always been overshadowed by his Gomer Pyle hi-jinx -- recorded these tunes on two separate albums (in 1967 and 1972), both of which have long been underground classics. Legacy had (finally!) released this compilation ... just try and find a better rendition of "Go Tell It On the Mountain." (Sorry, Mahalia.) Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. And he sometimes really does fulfill our wishes."
One of the best Christmas CDs ever!

"This CD is flawless from start to finish. Columbia Records have taken twelve songs from two of Nabors' best LPs-"The Jim Nabors' Christmas Album" from 1967 and the 1972 release "Jim Nabors - Merry Christmas". They did an excellent job remastering these twelve tracks. The only problem is they left off too many good songs such as Jim's version of "Sleigh Ride", "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and "Christmas Eve In My Home Town" (all three from the 1967 LP). Too bad they just didn't make this a twenty-four track CD instead of a twelve and give us both LPs remastered. Oh well, it's still a great CD and I can't complain (even though I am). You won't regret this purchase...BUY IT NOW!!! Jim rocks!"
Christmas Classic

"If you're a fan of classic Christmas music, this is one of the albums you need for your collcetion. Jim Neighbors is not Gomer Pyle. His powerful voice is on full display here, and the song selection is well vaired. Go Tell It On The Mountain is the highlight here, but all of the songs deliver a strong Christmas mood. This will fit fine right next to Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and Nat King Cole in your Christmas album collection."

"These songs bring back memories of us kids coming in from school and hearing Jim Nabors as we were greeted by my mom in the kitchen with hot chocolate ready to go. It just wasn't the Christmas season without hearing "Go Tell It on the Mountain" as only Jim Nabors can sing it. I am thrilled to finally add this CD to my own Christmas music collection!"
Good Old Jim---Missing a few songs

"Wow this is this closest thing I have come across to getting my old LP of Jim's Christmas Album on CD. It is a short CD with many songs missing but Jingle Bells (goonna have a lot of fun) is wonderful and perfect. O Holy Night is just as mooving as it was on LP. Go Tell it on the Mountian is the most wonderful orgional. If you need your Jim Nabors Fix this Christmas this is a nice quick fix.
I wish they would remix all of his memorable Christmas songs like Three Wise Men, Wise Men Three, Christmas Eve in My Hometown, In A Humble Place, and Sleigh Ride. The baiscs and most well known christmas songs are nice but the Jim Nabors orgional songs are missed.
If you don't have a copy of an old LP like I do this is a great for a Jim Nabors Christmas craving. But I am looking forward to when they come out with the missing songs remastered."
