Stunning Composition - Great Performances

"I must admit that I am a bit biased about this performer. We are friends and went to college together. But, that aside, this is a truly satisfying and inspiring album. The melodies and arrangements are both delicate and powerful. The range of emotion and pure joy for the music is obvious. The performances on this all-acoustic musical set are great as well. Jim is a supremely talented pianist and the rest of the trio - Darryl Hall on bass and Mark Walker on drums- balance each other very well. And while the performances are brilliant individually, the music comes first, and the interplay between players never overshadows the musical intent. The compositions range from melancholy to humorous, serious to funny, and all of them left me wanting more.
