This "Ten Stories" CD is a collection of religious folk songs. Some selections may be able to be played in church, but Jim's real goal is to document the lives of the very ordinary persons that make up a parish. An older gardener who has a unique friend, a retired school teaching nun, a penitent individual returning to church after a long time away; these warm, caring stories will touch your heart and make you smile. This album, which is currently being listened to in 24 countries (including Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq), and 6 of the 7 continents, also contains the respectful ballad, "I'm A Catholic!" and the emotional religious love song, "God Gave Me Everything." A beacon in these often dark times is "A Believing Thomas." "Holy is His Name" is a new version of Mary's Magnificat. But perhaps the greatest is the song he saved for last: the timeless and haunting "Paradise Bay." This album is done mostly in the American Folk Style, with acoustic guitars, a fiddle, whistle and mandolin. It is a treat to listen to, made up of melodies that stick with the listener long after the album is played.
