Van Slyke?s voice is a refreshing reminder that great artistry and singing still exist within popular music. He displays a sense of musicality and sophistication rarely found in today?s popular music, and a sincere, romantic quality rarely found in contemporary vocalists. The critically acclaimed vocalist brings a refreshing, pure sound to an eclectic mix of pop standards. Possessing one of the purest tenor voices around, this powerhouse performer delivers both emotionally and musically. Van Slyke?s performances have captivated audiences all over the world. He was a featured performer for President Clinton?s Inaugural Ball and has worked under Placido Domingo with the Washington National Opera. Features the music of some of pop music?s greatest writers ? Peter Allen, Jimmy Webb, Burt Bacharach, and Barry Gibb ? in addition to brilliant covers of such artists as Seals and Crofts, Barbara Streisand, Christopher Cross, and Barry Manilow.

"You cannot judge a "Master Baker" by tasting only one of his cakes...you must savor and experience each and every creation. Such is the same with singers...with the basic ingredients being JIM VAN SLYKE'S heart and soul. The essence of who Jim Van Slyke is comes from the pleasure and joy with which he presents his Debut CD "Open Road". The newest addition to the LML Music family hit of wonders.

This CD can only be measured and tasted after the last song is sung. You'll definitely want seconds here! Obviously Jim's creative juices were flowing with each and every track, but a special mention goes to Track 1 "Open Road", a Jim Van Slyke original, and if your blood is not pumping once this song is over, well you better rush to the hospital and have your pulse checked! This song has EVERYTHING, the words are meaningful and rich, the piano playing (by Jim) is phenomenal and this song WILL touch at your heartstrings....An amazing song written by Jim, and his presentation is SPECTACULAR!!!!

If ever there was a Debut CD to come along and hammer the competition, IT HAS ARRIVED! A triumphant breakthrough for Jim and all of his fans! Whether it's rock, jazz or that soft breathless ballad, this CD has covered all the genres. Jim has not only gone for the brass ring here, HE OWNS IT!!

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Jim has leapt at the most innocuous of opportunities, to show everyone how strong the competition truly is!

Jim will become a captivating, influential, admired and envied individual. His company will be sought by everyone once this CD is played. With a handful of singers trying to make their mark, Jim is in the fast lane and he will require some complex maneuvering for he is moving to the front of the line - NO BRAKES NEEDED HERE...Turn up the RPM's!!!!!

"Open Roads" music is breathing constantly in contradistinction to the willfully suffocated feeling of other music you may hear playing in this century. "Open Road" is here for everyone to enjoy and Jim is here to help facilitate the most benevolent outcome possible.

Jim Van Slyke, 5'10" of astounding talent! He has the looks to make his appeal enormous, his voice is startling at times, but the genuine and sincere way in which he presents these songs, will endear you to this singer for many years to come.

Jim is a toothsome star who uses any stage to show us what a singer CAN DELIVER to his audience of fans....and deliver he does...again and again. I know., I've been to his performances and wonder at his talent time and time again....Very hard to describe at times.

Jim is a SINGER you must experience, but even then, you may not be able to find the right adjectives to describe him...but ASTOUNDING, AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, UNBELIEVABLE and OUT OF THIS WORLD do come to mind....:)

I highly recommend the purchase of this CD, highly recommend listening to the words...the voice...the amazing range this man possesses, but do be careful, you may find yourself falling deeply in love with the music! Jim has brought to the table an item you will NEVER send back....You will just want seconds, thirds and dare I say fourths!

Bravo Jim....Your Debut CD is a MASTERPIECE....

Love, Mo

"I was very fortunate to hear Jim Van Slyke in concert recently, where he sang songs from this CD. His tenor voice is INCREDIBLE! And the songs are truly amazing. Some of my favorites Open Road, Kiss Me In The Rain, I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love, and When The Bartender Cries. I recommend this CD to absolutely everyone, because I honestly do not know why someone would not like it."
