I think this is what most jazz fans want but get too infrequently - a beautiful, intelligent, elegant, talented album start to finish. Jimmy Amadie's playing is superb, and together with Phil Woods (whose alto sax performance on "Baby Blue" will send you searching for Phil Woods' CDs), bassist Steve Gilmore and drummer Bill Goodwin, you have a quartet of the highest order - all veteran pros. I don't plan to loan this album out (I don't want to lose it). It's one you can showcase to impress your friends, and in quiet moments, yourself."
