"If you want the epitome of swamp-pop, this is your ultimate album, with songs ranging from haunting to playful. Especially appreciated by family (who remember James Kenneth Donley as "Kenny" . . . there being so many Jameses in the family already) are the several previously unreleased songs, which sound like the artist is sitting on the front steps of the porch in Gulfport, strumming and singing to the stars. I just received this album last night, ironically on the anniversary of Kenny's suicide (March 20, 1963), and found it the best selection yet of his work. I was surprised to find a lengthy biography of what can only be described as a tragic life . . . very informative, although a bit glossed over."
