"I was VERY surprised when I heard this CD, just got it on a whim. DAMN! He covers BB King, Stevie Ray, and Jimi on one album -- the cool thing, though, is that he covers them WELL! Better than well, this guy is killer, listen to me..... if you dig Stevie Ray's early upbeat stuff this is a fresher, more rockin version of it. Very cool, very very cool. I don't know what it would take for someone to dislike this album, it's just that good."

"This album is quite good, providing great rocking blues. However, when you compare it to 'wild night out' this album pales in comparison."

"This guy can shred the guitar! Saw him live here in Kansas City at the Grand Emporium and heard him do things with the guitar that I hadn't heard since Stevie Ray died."

"Crisp, driving blues. Great vocals and guitar. Good original material mixed with well selected covers. "Payin' the Cost to be the Boss" is an excellent take on the old B.B. King tune. The title cut is a well-written original. Many other terrific cuts. Highly recommended."At the Empty Arms Motel the blues is complimentary.""
