"This disc is not for someone looking to sample Jo Staford or for her fans who want the most well know material. For the former any of the greatest hits discs will do, for the later, the 3 disc collectors edition is essential. This is for people, like me who think Ms Stafford had the most beautiful voice of all the big band canaries. This disc contains 24 tracks, only 3 of which I have ever heard before and only one of which is duplicated on the 3 disc survey set. I found this disc fascinating, some of it wonderful, some of it less so because the material is simply not worthy of Jo Stafford. All of it is thoroughly musical, mostly backed by her husband Paul Weston, this is good commercial pop product (did Capitol ever record out and out junk until the rock era?). I have given it 4 stars for the performances. For the material alone I would have given 3 stars only. Thank you to DRG for releasing this disc of almost unknown Jo Stafford performances."
