"It had been quite awhile since his classic INNER URGE session for Blue Note,but after a stint with Milestone playing all sorts of stuff, Joe effectively recaptures the simple strong acoustic quartet groove. The rythm section is lead by Chick Corea. Dig Joe with acoustic Chick-LIVE IN MONTREUX (1981) Good sound quality and 70 mins of good jazz.---- Lesser know Joe Henderson sideman dates for 60's Blue Note where he is the only horn player are drummer Pete La Roca's BASRA which could pass for a Joe Henderson quartet date, Bobby Hutcherson's STICK-UP and THE KICKER, and Grant Green's IDLE MOMENTS. Then there's Grant Greens SOLID where Joe and altoist James Spauding solo strongly."
