CD ReviewsJoe Johnson is a "New Breed" Danté | Nashville, TN. | 02/24/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is not your typical Jazz CD. Life of the Party is the bridge between Urban Culture, Old Skool', Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk and R & B. I would definately recommend this CD for anyone that's looking for a new way to listen to Jazz Music; although, you can't help but notice his style that represent Great Legends like G. Washington, Jr., "Yardbird Parker", etc... While listening to this CD I noticed: * Technical Expressions * New Sounds * Tonalities * Clean Delivery * Extention of Range * Extention of Dynamics Bottom Line: Other than the fact that you'll want more, It's worth every cent! Don't Take my word for it, Go COP IT!!!!!" Greatness in the Making,Johnson Soon to be a Household Name! C. Myers | New York, New York USA | 02/16/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I got my Cd and all I could say it that "This thing is banging"!!!!!! Johnson's Cd has a real Street but Laid back kind of vibe to it thats not often heard . There is wwaaaayyy more sax playing on this CD than most urban based jazz records and he did it "without any cheesy" vocal overdubs. Joe let his horn do all the talking and his sax tone and chops are outstanding!!! He has his own voice (sound) on the horn unlike many others (ex. Think Everette Harp with a mix of David Sanborn and a dash of Kirk Whalum). Life of the Party is good as (if not better than) any smooth jazz cd I've heard in a long long time." THE BOMB !!!!!! D. hanna | MEMPHIS, TN | 02/16/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "WE UTTERLY THOUGHT THIS CD WAS AWESOME. WE LOVED EVERY SONG ON THE CD ESPECIALLY TRACK 4,5,8,9,&10. YOU'VE DONE AN EXTRAORDINARY JOB ON THIS CD. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IN CONCERT."
