"As a recording engineer, this man was truly a pioneer.

He built some of his own equipment and was extremely covetous of his sound.

I learned about him because one of his assistants eventually began to manufacture versions of Joe Meeks original designs of compressors and Pre Amps.

I liked the gear so much, I had to hear what he did with it.

Impressive, considering he recorded in mono for AM radio."
