Having never heard any music by this composer before I didn't know what to expect, but the sound is distinctive and melodically strong, and not completely dominated by strings as it seems on so many concertos of this period.
I haven't tired of this disc in several months, and it still gets fair play time from my music collection. There are no big surprises here, but you are in for a pleasant hour of well played late baroqe." |
