One note of chance

"I understand and is respectful the note left by tusai, even though I have another opinion. I've listened much of the music of Cage with the scores in my hands and one needs to understand that Cage always used the Chance in composing his music in order to not have preference for any note or noise, therefore I don't think Arditti's performance is cold, but rather is just Cage's music which is composed in that way. In this case, I think, he used again the I Ching in the whole fashion to rule each piece: pitch, dynamics, etc. are ruled by chance. If one follows up the performance by Irvine against looking at the score, it is amazing the precision of details: time, intensities, dynamics, and absolutely no details are missed. I suggest also, and probably this would have been Cage's wish, to listen several of these pieces together at the same time in such way you can have a quartet (or more) of Ardittis performing a new work of Cage ( I think you can have infinite performances of the same work)."
