Synopsis

Album Description

Born into a musically prominent Afro-Creole/New Orleans family, John Boutté follows sister Lillian, (star of the musical "One Mo' Time") into a professional music carrier. Boutté got his start a few years ago in a jam session with Stevie Wonder. Wonder told him "you're a good piano player, but you're an incredible singer." Critics often compare John Boutté to the likes of Sam Cooke and Little Jimmy Scott. The title track, "At The Foot of Canal Street" and "Sisters" were co-written by Paul Sanchez of Cowboy Mouth. Cowboy Mouth often performs "At The Foot of Canal Street" in their shows, and in addition the song is the theme song for Harrah's casino in New Orleans.

If you know what it means to miss New Orleans, then put on Boutte's CD and it will take you there -- at the Foot of Canal Street."

"I recently purchased the 3-2-1 Bose system and it came with a CD that included 2 of John Boutte~ songs. It included Annie Lennoxs' song "Why". It blow my mind. Purchased all of Mr. Boutte' cd. I'm several years behind....but thank God I found this treasure!!! Thanks Bose"

"I met John in New Orleans in the Clover Grill. They were playing his CD. I had to have it. That evening we went to see him perform at a French Quarter club. He and his back up guys were great. I will not forget his good music. This CD just gets you started with him."
