"Music like John Carter's "Message To Venus" cd should not be missed. As a painter, music aids me much as the paintbrush a tool to tap creative thought transforming mood to image onto canvas. I recommend this cd to artists and everyone who uses music to enhance the quality of life. He out plays "Yanni" and other current popular instrumantalists. "Message To Venus" should be added to every music lovers collection. Sincerely, Annette Odom"

"This is the perfect CD for a romantic evening with someone special. Rich in textures and melodies, there's nothing quite like it. Piano, cellos, flutes, fretless bass, sitar, koto, string sections, and some amazing acoustic and electric guitar work create an elaborate soundscape. Laid back but with some intricate passages, each song seems to transport you to a different beautiful place. "Zsuzsa" takes you to a French cafe, while "Holiday" takes you sailing on the South China Sea. Quite a work of art, I look forward to more."
Disappointing at best........

"I found this to be a rambling, mainly unfocused work. The song titles were very intriguing, but it was much like opening a beautifully wrapped empty package - all flash and no content. Just because you can produce sounds (mostly on a synthesizer, I would guess) does not mean you are making music. While a couple of the cuts start out with great promise, they have no "story" or theme - and simply ramble on without any true feeling or destination. There are a couple of brief instances where the guitar work stands out, but not often enough to save this CD. Unfortunately, even mediocre new age artists outshine this collection. When this composer comes of age, musically speaking, he may be worth another listen. But until then, definitely pass on this offering."
