"Most of you serious jazz audiophiles probably own a 10 CD box set that includes the music on this CD, so its to the casual music collector that I make my appeal. BUY THIS CD! A friend of mine who listens to alot of different music said once that she guessed she just didn't understand jazz. To me this CD is the definition. 30 seconds after you put this CD in the player it all becomes clear. Coletrane takes a song that sucks like inch worm and turns it into a legend. I mean this is one dopey song if you heard it done by anyone else, but Coletrane's group plays the hell out of it. It makes me wonder what his group would have done with other stupid songs like Rainbow Connection, or Muscrat Love or even Doo Wah Diddy. But seriously, this CD is filled with essential Coletrane and this is the most dynamic group he played in as far as I know so I heartilly recommend it."
