"Serious fans will know that John Denver was more than a country boy. He had musical roots in folk as a member of the Chad Mitchell Trio. Who knew at the time that "Leaving On A Jet Plane" as recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary was a John Denver composition? (He almost drove off the road when he first heard it played on the radio!) So, this album is appropriately titled. John Denver was a folk singer. You must buy this CD just to hear "Mr. Bojangles". Denver's version is so emotionally evocative that it will grab your soul and not let go. The other songs are repackaged such as "Thirsty Boots" from I WANT TO LIVE, and "Angels From Montgomery" from FAREWELL ANDROMEDA--two of my favorite Denver albums. (There's a thought provoking line in "Angels From Montgomery": How the hell can a person go to work in the morning...come home in the evening...and have nothing to say?) Denver's voice is so distinct and clear while exuding a feeling that is almost hypnotic. Country/folk is John Denver at his very best!"

"John Denver shared with us his heart and soul when he wrote and performed the music. In this CD, we are given a review of his performing abilities with music written by others. His personality and outlook still let us see others through his eyes. A very good CD!"
